There is no cost to the client for the hourly services. If however the service is for social support, then there may be some costs for social activities. However we are mindful of peoples budgets and often have many suggestions for social activities that attract little or no cost.

How long would the service be able to help me for?
The service is not time limited. As long as the client and the Program Coordinator negotiate goals to work towards then services can continue.

Am I able to get services straight away?
For new clients it is not an emergency service and a waitlist does apply. The waitlist time will be different according to different geographical locations. When clients are on the waitlist for services we keep in regular contact with there key worker or Case Manager at the relevant Mental Health Service to notify them when services would be available.

What if I don't get along with my Support Worker?
On assessment Support Workers are carefully matched by knowledge, skill, experience, common interests and personality to the individual needs of each client. It is part of human nature that we don't feel a connection with everyone we meet. The Support Workers are aware of this and don't take it personally if they are withdrawn from a clients service. The client and the Coordinator would then discuss the situation and agree on an outcome, to meet the needs of the client. Perth Home Care Services employs over 350 Support Workers.
